Documentary filmmakers Jeff Spitz and Mickey Madode Dube are creating a film about The Robben Island Singers, to be released in 2010 (the trailer can be viewed above).

This feature-length film will combine the Singers uplifting music with the story of how they went from South Africa’s most notorious Apartheid-era prison to helping inspire high school students in some of the Chicago’s most disadvantaged neighborhoods.
